Our naturally grown Michigan cattle eats green vegetation, and so they should only eat grasses and legumes to complete their diet versus human harvested grains. Our locally grown grass fed beef is finished on our pastures that are insecticide and herbicide free. Unlike feed lots and other mass cattle growing operations, our cattle get moved every couple days to a fresh green pasture consisting of a new buffet of vegetation. Moving the cattle frequently versus an open pasture stimulates the grasses to keep it growing in its most nutritious state. Therefore allowing the cattle to get the most out of what they eat, and giving you the best quality pastured beef.
The biggest benefit of taking a full or half steer is that you can get it cut exactly the way you want it. At the same time taking the whole or half animal will also save you some money.
Full Steer Deposit: $500
Half Steer Deposit: $250
All of our farm beef is priced on "hanging weight." This is after the steer has been harvested and is on the rack ready for processing. You will only pay for what you will use! Final weights will be determined by the butcher to determine total cost.
Whole: $4.00 per pound
Half: $4.25 per pound
You should expect a full steer to weigh approximately 700 lbs to 800 lbs hanging weight. Once your farm raised beef is ready to be cut, the butcher will walk you through a simple process to customize your beef to your preference. Butchering fees are additional from the steer price.
